Eleven Changes Five Goals and Three Back Player Ratings

By Matt Sadler

Excellent evening as Arsenal won comfortably having made eleven changes, welcoming three important players back from injury and giving a number of our exciting youngsters the chance to impress.

Dominated the first half without creating a great deal of clear cut chances. Second half was much the same but we turned the style on for the last 20 minutes as the Gunners added another 4 goals.

RATINGS:

Martinez - 6. Nothing to do but is always alert and distributes well.
Chambers - 8. Always an option going forward as he got two assists, the first of which was an excellent first time cross.
Mustafi - 6. Can't recall too many heart-in-the-mouth moments. Dangerous from set pieces in the first half.
Holding - 7. Great moment as he headed home whilst wearing the captain's armband on his injury comeback.
Tierney - 7. Crossing was very good. Didn't get to see much of his defensive work but the important thing is another 75 minutes under his belt.

Torreira - 6. Yeah did okay. Much preferred how we used him today to how we used him in the first half against Frankfurt.
Willock - 8. Looks to me like a player constantly growing in confidence and stature. Missed a good chance but made up for it shortly after.
Smith Rowe - 6. Had a header well saved and ended up being stretchered off in the process. He's had such rotten luck with injury I hope it's not a bad one.
Ozil - 7. Thought he got better as the game went on, but of course much will be made of his reaction to being subbed off by the media.
Nelson - 7. A few times this season he's looked like a player who needs a confidence boost, which hopefully his first goal will provide. Looked better after Saka came on.

Martinelli - 7. Scored an excellent header in the first half and a lovely curled effort late on.
Subs:
Saka - 7. So good when he came on. Has so much ability and quality on the ball.

Ceballos - 5. Okay.
Bellerin - 6. Assisted almost immediately after coming on. Great to have him back.
