Some thoughts on why Arsenal won

Real Celebs

Clock End legend Kieran Moroney called it when he came round to the house to watch the game. It's not Bolton away he said, Madrid will give us the space to play and the pitch is perfect for our game.

Why aren't we doing it in the League? Because here teams close us down. If they don't we beat them. The major difference last night was that the big name players all got stuck in. The kids have been brilliant all season and the big namers have let them down.

Henry? A disgrace against Liverpool, magnificent last night, reminded me, and Kieran, of Ian Wright in all those away legs in 94. Chasing the ball down and getting back to pick up possession. Plenty of conspiracy theorists will tell you that TH was playing for himself last night and not for the cause, but we shouldn't let that spoil a wonderful night.

Fabregas was simply glorious, not for the first time the best midfielder on a pitch studded with supposedly great names. Eboue was superb, as was Kolo. The next great Arsenal team is taking shape.

Alan Hansen reckons the kids are no good. The Scot's got it arse about face. The kids ARE the next great Arsenal team. Freddie, Bobby and maybe even Thierry will soon belong to the glorious past. We should never doubt the boss. Sure we're going to lose a few games as the team is being built on the hoof. We might get beat in the return leg, but whatever happens, just repeat the mantra. Arsene knows
