Henry I will stay: Web exclusive

After a week of media feeding frenzy and phony stories about Telephone calls to Barcelona the real truth about Henry's future has broken
Just after 10.30 tonight Sky Sports News broke with a story that the Sun's early editions have a back page story claiming Henry will stay. It's a massive back page exclusive. Henry is quoted in the Sun as saying I will stay beyond next summer. "I can say to all my fans and the people who care about me I want to lead the team out in the new stadium".
Henry told The Sun he was tempted to leave in the wake of Patrick Vieira’s exit last summer, stating: “I’m still only 28. But when I see the fans and the way they talk to me, it helped make my decision. They didn’t boo me or make life difficult for me on the pitch.”
Henry went on to say “We need to move on now. I’m staying here to build one of the best teams in Europe. We need to be competitive. The club said it was up to me and now it’s up to them. I’ve made my decision and I can’t say more than that.”
Is it true? Well one press story is as good or as bad as the next, but Wenger was incredibly cool, calm and relaxed at his press conference today. He refuted that Henry would ever speak to Barcelona. He said Wrighty was entitled to his gut feeling, but his gut feeling was wrong. He showed his disgust at the press stories suggesting that Henry was disloyal. He expected Henry to sign a contract but why should the press set the agenda? Why indeed.
