This game is important not just for the three points, but for psychological reasons. Whoever wins will have an advantage for the Semi – final.
During mid week Blackburn held Liverpool to a goal less draw at Anfield. They restricted Liverpool to a very few chances. This will be a tough game, not because of Blackburn’s roughhouse tactics, but because they only need to get a point. Indeed a point is better than none; they are not in a situation where it has to be three points or bust. They are probably six points away from safety, a point off of Arsenal will leave them with only five more to find, and leave them psychologically intact for the semi.
If Henry, Bergkamp and Pires were all fit then I would expect Arsenal to score, but Henry is out, and Bergkamp is unlikely to play, Pires may recover from the flu in time.
So it is probably a strike force of Reyes and Van Persie, so we better hope that Ljunberg, Cole and Vieira can get on the score sheet. Wenger is very much up for the game; he wants to seize second place in the Premiership. If his enthusiasm has rubbed off on the players then we should be ok.
