Will Lauren go?

Today the Sun claimed that Lauren has signed a contract with Real Madrid for next season, not the kind of news Arsenal fans want to read just before a big match.

Will Lauren go?

When Lauren stepped up and took the penalty against Spurs he hardly seemed to look like a player about to jump ship. If it is true how worrying is that news for the future of the team.

Well firstly if it is true Wenger would not have allowed it to happen without having a view on the matter; and as he has not made any statements so far, it does seem unlikely, unless his view was that it is time for a change.

Has Arsene decided he will now go with Hoyte, who has played impressively in the Lager Cup, and two full first team games, this season? Alternatively he could put Kolo at right back, where he plays far better than Lauren, and put Senderos in the middle. Perhaps Eboue also features in these plans.

One criticism of Wenger is that he has always been conservative in giving youth a chance. Maybe that is all about to change, it also might mean he will not be able to guarantee success, but you can’t always have both.

There again Hansen once said that "you can’t win anything with kids", old red nose proved him wrong on that. Are the Wenger’s Wonder Kids about to strike back?

STOP PRESS

Like all Sky/Real Madrid stories the information changes by the minute. Lauren has not actually signed, but will sign in January. Whatever the truth Arsene must not all ow this to drift and become a pain in the butt like PaddyGate.
