Arsene tells members at training day what to expect. At the end of the game Arsene was asked about transfers, but all in good time, first the stadium.

 There is no doubt the new stadium is special, its large, but not alienating. It might seem contradictory to say that it is compact. I sat in the East Upper and felt closer to the action than I would have done in the old East Upper. Although it did seem strange that all the corners are filled in. No views of sunsets over Victorian houses here, just a few tower blocks, and a glimpse of local trains.

The seats are incredible, fans are no longer scrunched up, and the seats are all cushioned. The circulating areas are wide and spacious, and every other door seems to be a toilet (no jokes please Spurs readers). But I couldn’t find any sit down services for food or drink at pleb level.

There are lifts, but the ones for my block were out of order. I tried the next block and that was slow and overcrowded. So if you are disabled allow yourself plenty of time.

The views are astounding from any area, wherever you sit you will see the game more clearly than on TV. At the end of training players tried to kick footballs into the upper tier. Only a few suceeded – including Mart Poom.

Ah you say what did Wenger tell members to expect? He told us to expect one or two great signings. He couldn’t say who, as things have to be done quietly, or that k**nt Mourinho would put the mockers on it (I made the last ten words up, but that’s what he meant).
