We seem to be fitter than the other teams - Chelsea & Sevilla - that we have played in pre-season. And our first eleven (while a few players return from injury) picks itself at the moment. Few teams will be able to live with our pressing, energy and speed. And Tomiyasu, Tierney, ESR and Vieira to become available over the next few weeks. With five subs available and a much stronger bench than last season we will be less vulnerable if any of our first choice players get injured. Possibly another midfiel general is needed. And arguable another winger would be good too (as back-ups to Saka and Martinelli), but maybe Pepe or Nelson will be retained. If we can overcome Palace away (they have had a few key players injured,  they also may not be up to speed) and Leicester at the Emirates, we might easily be going into the Man United game on the back of 5 wins out of 5 and top of the table. Heady times ! (woah there. Ed)

Ramsdale 8 Good distribution, looked confident throughout.

White 7 A few stray passes and losing the ball in possession early on, but good forays up the pitch in the second half

Saliba 9 Immense and very cool in tight defensive spots

Gabriel 8 Made a few good clearances

Zinchenko 7 Looked composed and skilful

Partey 7.5 A few stray passes but generally held midfield together

Xhaka 8.5 Good game and an extra attacker in the second half - unlucky not to score, two assists

Odegaard 9 Ran the attack, was everywhere, no hiding today

Saka 9 Two goals, always looked threatening

Jesus 10 Incredible performance, constant pressing, poacher extraordinaire, could have had 5 goals

Martinelli 9 Constant movement and threat, unlucky no to score, unselfish to gift Nketiah the 6th goal
