Arsenal’s roll of shame – A disgrace?

Roll of shame

By Boris Mellor

Some Arsenal fans did publicly rate the performance of the team against WBA. Some of the ratings were ludicrous, -1 etc, but I didn’t have the heart to correct them as I felt my own ratings might not be that objective. So how do you rate the performance? Well the Guardian is usually quite level headed about this, and even if I disagree it is only plus or minus a point here and there.

So when I opened my Guardian this morning to read the team ratings I couldn’t believe my ears (surely you mean eyes. Ed. Nope ears, I like to read them out aloud. Boris). This could not be the ratings of a bitter and twisted Arsenal fan, as I have never seen an Arsenal team rated like this in the Guardian in all my days.

So here is the Roll of Shame as per today’s Guardian:

Almunia 2.8, Sagna 4.1, Squillaci 4.3, Koscielny 4.2, Clichy 4.2, Eboue, Diaby 3.3, Song 4.6, Chamakh 4.9, Arshavin 4.6.

Nasri was awarded 7.2, and the subs were not rated, which in Vela’s case is a bit of good fortune. No doubt some might find these ratings a little generous, but let’s be objective and for the sake of argument take them as read.

What can the conclusion be? A disgrace, arrogant, tired out, pathetic, bottlers etc. You dear reader pays your money, I leave you to make your choice.

A neutral should have rated our players better than that but they seem very precise as if it was well thought out, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt.

Better? Eboue and Diaby are flattered by it

the low ratings are fair enough. That was the worst Arsenal performance I have seen in a long time. Wigan away last season was shambolic but that was a collapse rather than whole performance.

Nasri rating must be for the last 10 minutes.

Wenegr - zero scorer.
