Competition

A while back when Arsenal were having captain problems I ordered a Puskas  CZ T to remind me what a good captain looks like. It must have worked because Cesc was made captain and we went off on a long unbeaten run. The T is still good and my slogan Captain of Hungary 83 in 84 makes for great after dinner conversation, mainly based on who the hull is that? What does 83 in 84 mean?

 Over the next week or so I will be posting a question to be answered by email. The lucky winner will be able to order a free T of their own - who will you choose? Plyometrics - no Song

Cesc remains injured and Campbell is also a doubt, and Gallas seems to be suffering a mystery injury, has Wenger taken Plyometrics too far. Wenger's stretches prolonged older players career's but is the use of Plyometrics (jump training) undermining some of the players? This training method gives Arsenal its super fitness, but has it given Gallas his calf injury. Plyometrics has to be supervised very carefully, was Gallas using this method? We don't know and it's probably unfair to speculate.

We will also be without the suspended Song. This is a game where Song could have been very useful.

Hull will be desperate and no doubt physical, they lost 5-1 at Everton, but I assume that perma tan man didn't make the team sit out in the cold for 15 minutes this time. Hull have let in 59 goals so far this season, and lost last 3 away games, but that doesn't necessarily mean a walkover. At their last home match they beat Man City 2-1, and before that they held Chelsea to a draw, so underestimate at your peril.

However, even with the spine of Cesc, Gallas and RvP missing Arsenal ought to be able to win this one. After the shock victory at the Arsenal Stadium the Gunners have beaten them three times. Nasri now looks like he can ably deputise for Cesc, Diaby is on form, and Arshavin was coruscating against Porto. Whatever the weakness at the back Arsenal have to outscore Hull.  Surely a team with Nick, Ros, Arshavin, Nasri, Diaby and Walcott can do that? Arshavin looks so much happier now that Nick has returned.

Mark Lawrenperson Bragging

He is boasting that his bet on Arsenal to win the league is looking good, he got 11 or to 13 to 1, I can't quite remember the exact odds. I would like to think it's purely based on scientific analysis, but it is also his way of putting one up Hansen. There is still a long way to go and the injuries keep mounting, and if you look at next 3 games our opponents (Chavs and Man U) games are no harder or easier than the ones the Gunners face. It is going to be a roller coaster so hold on tight.

Liverpool

I watched them play Wigan and was amazed how poor they are, and they played Torres and Gerrard. I think they need a striker, two midfielders and a centre back. Just think back to the beginning of the season, poor old Wenger was going to drop out of the top four, and Benitez was set to storm the heavens. Funny old game.
