So the crisis month of December has passed with Wenger awarded Manager of the Month. A month that according to some was a serious blip in Arsenal form, a month in which a draw at Pompey was hailed as a crisis. How strange then that Arsene is awarded Manger of the Month. Someone has to be mad, and I do not think its Arsene, or the awarders.
I cannot wait for Ade to be player of the month, that will piss a few off, though funny enough, mainly Arsenal fans. Do not get me wrong I rate Bendtner, but his recent run of matches shows he has still a way to go, so does Ade, but he starts from a far higher level.
What a wealth of strikers we now have, it means we no longer hear that Wenger should buy old sulky. In fact, old sulky has rung up £87 million in transfer fees since his start at Arsenal and Wenger only paid £500,000 out of that. Most have lost money on it, apart from the Trotters who doubled theirs. Yes the blokes a great striker, as long as you only want someone for six months. Anyhow, he has signed for four and a half years, so he will have left Chavski by April then. We will be spoilt for choice when he and Ashley turn up.
Oh yes I forgot about Birmingham, actually Arsene nearly forgot to discuss it as well, what with all the excitement about Diarra and Jens going nowhere, and that we are signing another 10 year old. It is going to be even better in 10 years, but in English. What a visionary the man is.
Anyhow back to Birmingham, a Man U fan at work told me they are dirty, and they should know – United struggled to beat them 1-0 at the Salford building site (is it finished yet?). Therefore, they could be difficult to break down, but they have not met an attack like ours before.
Defensive Crisis
There again they have not met a defence like ours before either, at the time of writing we have 23 centre backs either injured, or in Africa. Apparently, it is a defensive crisis, but Manager of the Month is dead cool, he says Hoyte, Sagna and Gilberto can all play there, but if push comes to shove Senderos is fit, and could play alongside Gallas.
Meanwhile something has to be done about the Arsenal treatment room, is it just me that has noticed it is situated next an infectious diseases experimental lab that leaks? Every time a player comes back from a long lay off they go down with the flu (happened to both Walcott and van Persie) – can’t be a coincidence? What is the chance of that happening?
Anyway, lads put on a good show, because a Brummie mate of mine is creeping into the Arsenal end to watch the game. I promised I would not reveal he will be in block 139 row 33 seat 29 and looks like Jarvis Cocker. So if you see him do wish his team luck.
I hope he is not expecting any atmosphere, we only make a noise for two clubs, Man U because they are our rivals, and the Ashley Cole memorial eleven. The rest we expect to beat as a right and the team should get on with it without the need for us to exert ourselves. It is not our fault they are so brilliant and do not need encouragement.
