Forget deadly Doug, we’ve got marauding Mandaric

Doug Ellis had a fearsome reputation at Aston Villa, but Milan Mandaric at Portsmouth could give him a run for his money at the moment. After just seven months in a job Coach Alain Perrin has packed his strings of onions and half inched all the available garlic and departed to the land of the frog and the home of the snail.

It has to be said that a record of four wins in 20 Premiership games is hardly awe inspiring stuff mind, and the acquisition of le temper tantrum Robert would have hardly helped his cause, but really is seven months long enough?

Look at his record of late, Genial jovial cockney barrow boy Harry forced out of the door by shall we say less than perfect working conditions, and that sour faced bloke whose name no-one ever seems to commit to memory (myself obviously included).

So who is next?

Sheffield United manager Neil Warnock and former Hearts boss George Burley are both being touted as possible successors, in my own opinion Burley may be tempted, but I can’t see Warnock leaving Sheffield United as its obvious he loves it there.

Whoever it may be they may as well save themselves the bother of getting a door sign made.
