The UEFA Cup group stages draw

This morning the group stages for the UEFA cup were drawn. Newcastle United are facing Palermo, Celta de Vigo, Fenerbahce and Eintracht Frankfurt while Tottenham Hotspur are drawn in a group with Bayer Leverkusen, Club Brugge, Besiktas and Dinamo Bucharest. Both Premier League clubs have drawn quality opposition and the UEFA cup will now turn into serious business. The other Premiership outfit, Blackburn Rovers, are drawn in a group with Feyenoord (winners in 2002), FC Basel, Wisla Krakow and AS Nancy.

Auxerre, Glasgow Rangers, Partizan Belgrade, Livorno, Maccabi Haifa

Group B:
Bayer Leverkusen, Club Brugge, Besiktas, Dinamo Bucharest, Tottenham Hotspur

Sevilla, AZ Alkmaar, Slovan Liberec, Grasshoppers, Sporting Braga

Group D:
Parma, RC Lens, SC Heerenveen, Osasuna, OB Odense

Group F:
Ajax, Sparta Prague, Espanyol, Austria Wien, Zulte-Waregem

Group G:
Panathinaikos, Paris St Germain, Rapid Bucharest, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Mlada Boleslav

Group H:
