Portsmouth are ready to offer Portuguese youngster Manuel Fernandes a permanent deal at Fratton Park. The 20-year old midfielder is currently on a season-long loan from Benfica. Pompey have a first option to buy Fernandes and are now ready to lift that option.
Other teams like Manchester United are sniffing around and Portsmouth are feeling the need to tie Fernandes to the club on a permanent basis. The South-English side are ready to table an offer in the next few weeks.
"We are waiting but the player is already adapted to playing in the Premier League," chief executive Peter Storrie told Ojogo. "We will wait to see him play in one or another game in the league.
"Perhaps after this happens, inside one or two weeks, we will place a contract on the table."
