Roda JC manager Huub Stevens has been appointed as new manager of HSV Hamburg. The Dutch manager signed up with HSV today and will be in charge of his new team on Saturday.
Stevens' former assistant manager, Raymond Atteveld, takes charge of the first team at Roda JC until the end of the season.
Stevens will replace Thomas Doll at HSV, who was sacked earlier this week. Felix Magath was almost certain to replace Doll at first but Magath broke down talks with HSV when he discovered the club were in talks with Stevens aswell.
HSV will be Stevens' fourth German club. The 53-yeard old managed Schalke '04, FC Köln and Hertha BSC before.
