Juventus’ Patrick Vieira has categorically denied recent speculation that he could be about to return to the Premiership with Manchester United, he continued to say how happy he is in Italy, and with the sort of start he has had to the season, it would be difficult not to be happy.
He also denied that he had been tempted by Man Utd during his nine years with Arsenal but did concede that they had made an offer:
"There is no truth in me coming back to England and certainly not to United."
"To say I turned them down during my time at Arsenal is quite a claim because nothing was made clear."
"I was told United made me an offer, a very good one, and I don't know if they were told I wanted to go there.
"I never knew if it was really United who were interested or someone trying to work for United.
"I never met Sir Alex Ferguson. There was a lot of confusion and that was my fault.
"The one thing I didn't handle properly was the business of agents. I had different agents and I wasn't in control of anything.
"There were so many people getting involved, there were so many stories."
