Portuguese International joins Valencia

After strenghten the attack and midfield with 4 new signings (amongst them Patrick Kluivert) Valencia CF now decided to do something for the defence. The champions of 2004, who finished last season on the dissapointing 7th place in the primera divisiun, has signed Benfica defender Miguel Monteiro for around 8m €.
The 25 year old portuguese midfielder signed a contract for 5 years.

On the other hand moves Valencia's outside defender Alex (2 caps for Portugal) in the Bundesliga to VfL Wolfsburg.
