Newcastle target happy at Man Utd.

Alan Smith's agent Alex Black has stated that his client is happy with life and Manchester United and does not want to leave. This will be bad news for Newcastle fans who see Smith as a possible answer to the soon to be departing Alan Shearer. Newcastle thought they would have a chance at landing Smith who has seen his options at Manchester United limited since the arrival of Wayne Rooney and Newcastle, who tried to land Smith last season, would offer him a greater chance for regular first team football.

But his agent seems to have dented that hope Stating:

"I don't think Alan's position has changed at all.”

"Everything is fine with Alan and he is happy at United. There are no problems. “

"There has been speculation about Newcastle, but nobody has spoken to us about that."
