German move for Middlesbrough ace?

Boudewijn Zenden is fast emerging as a likely target for Werder Bremen in their long search for a new midfielder. Reports in Germany state that Bremen see Zenden as a likely replacement for the soon to be departing German international Fabian Ernst. They are resigned to losing Ernst to league rivals Schalke come the summer. Bremen’s director of sport, Klaus Allofs admitted to being interested in Zenden when talking to German daily Bild.

Whether Bremen would meet Zenden's wage demands could be a different matter though, but the thought of appearing in the Champions League could be enough to turn the players head.
