German move for Aston Villa star?

According to the German press Aston Villa's Germany international midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger, could be on the verge of a move to Stuttgart. Hitzlsperger’s contract is up at Villa in the summer and he has attracted a fair bit of attention from his native Germany. "Stuttgart is a very well managed club which plays on an international stage and a transfer there would be a clear improvement for me," admitted Hitzlsperger.

He also hopes moving will help his chances of a call up to the German national squad in time for the 2006 world cup, believing his playing chances, being limited at Villa could adversely effect his selection. Stating:

"I'm not playing often enough."

"With the short appearances that I'm getting, I find it hard to believe that the coach needs me."
