After about 4 years of absence PSV ace Jan Vennegoor Of Hesselink is back in the Holland Squad. The lanky striker will replace Chelsea’s Arjen Robben, who limped off after just 20 minutes against Romania last Saturday, and is expected to be out for some time.
Although there is nothing definite about Robben's injury as yet, a scan of the ankle is expected soon.
Vennegoor has played twice already for Holland, last time was in February 2001 in a friendly against Ireland. Months previous to that he made his debut against Portugal.
The 26 year old striker is having a good seaon at PSV Eindhoven. He is keeping Gerald Sibon on the bench and is PSV's topscorer in the Holland Casino Eredivie with 14 goals.
