Serbian star Nicola Zigic has made a great impression since he arrived at Racing de Santander. His good performances have brought interest from the top clubs of Europe, and the club officials were not caught unattended: the giant is worth 30 million euros. He participated in all of the team’s 12 goals this season, scoring them, giving the assist or receiving the foul inside the area that would later be transformed in goal from the penalty spot.

The 202 cm. tall striker, aged 26, landed in Santander only three months ago for a fee of 6 million euros. Many Premiership sides showed interest on him before he was secured by Racing, rumours indicated that Portsmouth, West Ham, Blackburn Rovers and even Arsenal would have been ready to land the Red Star giant for 11.5 million euros approximately.

Nowadays, Valencia has shown serious interest in signing him, but they only found a negative response from their Racing colleagues, since they decided to put a 30 million euro release clause on Zigic’s contract.

That fee would only abide for Spanish sides, since the officials made it clear that if a foreign team showed interest on him, they were willing to engage talks and that fee could be lowered.

Meanwhile, the star, who was part of the Serbian squad in Germany, stated:

“I don’t want to talk about my future, it is still too early.

“Right now I’m focused on Racing and I don’t want to be distracted.

“I know I’m having a good season, but I’m not obsessed about scoring.

“The other day I gave an assist and created a penalty, that is also important in order to gain points.
