Nicolas Anelka has been sent home by France from WC2010 in South Africa after launching a verbal tirade at under pressure coach, Raymond Domenech. France who were beaten 2-0 by Mexico on Thursday and are struggling to qualify for the last 16, axed Anelka after a disciplinary hearing as the striker missed training this morning (Saturday).
The French Football Federaton said, "The decision to remove Anelka has just been taken. I find it unbelieveable, because if anyone has protected Anelka, it has been Domenech.
"Domenech has played Anelka throughout the past two years," explained the FFF's vice-president Noel Le Graet.
Le Graet continued, "There are of course divergences of opinion surrounding tactics and positioning, but it merits in any case friendlier conversations."
After being told by Domenech that he was being substituted (at half-time in France's 2-0 defeat against Mexico), Anelka said, "Go f**k yourself, dirty son of a whore."
Anelka could well be joined by Flo Malouda at Cobham earlier than planned if France do not qualify and there is the scenario of JT, Super Frank and Ashley Cole returning earlier than normal.
Chelsea could have ALL available for the first pre-season game against Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday 17th July.
Wayne Rooney apologised today for his TV outburst at the end of the turgid draw against Algeria yesterday when he said, "Nice to see your own fans booing you."
Rooney said, "On reflection I said things in the heat of the moment that came out of frustration of both our performance and the result."
"For my part I apologise for any offence caused by my actions at the end of the game."
