Aston Villa 1-2 Chelsea: 'Super 203 Goal Frankie Lampard'

A wonderful acheivement reached and breached at Villa Park yesterday as ‘Super 203 goal Frankie Lampard’ scored two second-half goals to equal and break Bobby Tambling’s long standing all-time goalscoring record. Not too shabby for a fat footballing midfielder signed from West Ham twelve years ago.

Not only did ‘Super Frank’ break Chelsea’s goalscoring record, he got into double figures for league goals for the 10th successive season.

Why Chelsea are dragging their heels over ‘Super 203 goal Frankie Lampard’s’ future is wildy and completely beyond me? Their reasons are probably the same when they sacked ‘One Di Matteo’ and replaced him with the Fat Spanish waiter from the Wirral.

Villa took the lead when Cahill, not for the first time this week, allowed a striker to run on him – Benteke the scorer and Adebayor on Wednesday – and what was Cech doing sticking out his leg and falling away as the shot went past him?

Benteke should not have been on the pitch in the first place after he was ONLY yellow carded after clearly elbowing Azpilicueta in the face and Villa’s Nathan Baker was very, very lucky to only receive a yellow card for his scyther on Mata in the opening minutes.

Ramires was sent off just before half-time after his two kick can can was one too many kicks for Mason when Ramires caught Agbonlahor.

Benteke went the same way after his high boot caught ‘Captain, Leader, Legend, One England Captain’ JT in the 2nd half and considering Villa’s legend ‘Stan’ Petrov was sitting in the stands, the Villa fans chanting towards JT as he was stretchered off in the closing stages was nothing short of disgraceful!

Super Frank equalled the record on 61 minutes when he shot powerfully past Guzan from the edge of the area and ‘Super 203 goal Frankie Lampard’ slotted home his second and the record-breaker from close range after good inter-play between Cole and Hazard on the left side of Villa’s area.

Hazard with another strong run down Villa’s left deep into stoppage time saw him pull up with hamstring trouble and Chelsea had to see out the remaining minutes with only nine players.

Both JT and Hazard are major doubts for Wednesday night’s Europa League Final, although I suspect that ‘Captain, Leader, Legend, One England Captain,’ JT wasn’t in the frame to play anyway!
