Europa League Draw

Ruud Van Nistelrooy presided over the bowl of red balls containing the semi-finalists of this season’s Europa League. In no particular order but alphabetically looks pleasing – Basel, Benfica, Chelsea and Fenerbache – Nistelrooy picked out Fenerbache at home to Benfica as the first pairing, then fingers crossed for the away leg 1st, Nistlerooy picked out the Swiss conquerors of Tottenham (snigger), Basel.

Finally Chelsea’s ball came out and the Europa League draw was complete.

The formality was completed as Nistelrooy completed the final draw, to determine the home and away teams in the Amsterdam Arena, Basel/Chelsea were drawn as the away team.

In the other draw, Bayern were drawn at home to Barca and Dortmund were drawn at home to Jose’s Real.

The Europa League semi-final dates are Thursday 25th April and Thursday 2nd May 2013.
