Fresh from their superb destruction of the classless and clueless Gooners on Sunday at Corporate City, Chelsea travel North to face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in the Carling Cup Quarter-Final only a month or so after caning Rovers 5-0 at The Bridge. We would like to take this opportunity to wish Rovers manager Sam Allardyce a speedy recovery following his recent heart surgery.

It was left to assistant manager Ray Wilkins to face the press before the squad left for 'Up Norf' and he proclaimed Chelsea will field a strong line-up.

He said, "We certainly approach every game to win it and we'll be doing the same on Wednesday evening. We would love to be in the Final of the Carling Cup, it's the first trophy of the season and one we want to win so we'll be going all out to do that.

"Most certainly the side will be mixed up but it will be a very strong side, no question."

Definitely out of the squad are Alex and Danny Sturridge with thigh and hip injuries respectively and it is very likely Ashley Cole will be missing after coming off on Sunday, but he did train yesterday.

Definitely in the squad is Gael Kakuta, who was very impressive when he came off the subs bench recently against Wolves.

Wilkins said, "Gael will be in the squad, you saw a snippet of him a couple of weeks ago. He's a very talented young man but obviously we have to nurture that along, as we do a couple of other very talented young guys as well.

"Gael has a great work ethic and is prepared to listen and work at his game, and that's nice to see."
