Carling Cup: Chelsea v Bolton: Starting XI Named

In the first of two games against the 'Trotters' in quick succession, the Carling Cup takes centre-stage at Stamford Bridge tonight, then on Saturday the two teams meet again at the Reebok in the Premiership. I cannot remember the last time a Chelsea manager named his team in pre-match, but thats what boss 'Anco' did yesterday.

He named Hilario in goal.

The defence is Belletti, Alex, Ivanovic, Ferreira.

The midfield sees Ballack, Deco, Malouda and Joe Cole start and up front Kalou and Daniel Sturridge (making his first start).

Even the substitutes have been named. They are: Turnbull, Bruma, Matic, Essien, Lampard, Borini, Drogba.

A sensible line-up - big guns such as Terry and Lampard not featuring but if we havent got enough in depth to rest them for a match like this then where are we. In any case there is more than enough there.

Looking forward to seeing Sturridge get a full game and with luck Bruma and Borini might get some time.

Bolton are aware of our team - so they might well go for it - or do they decide to rest some as well and put more effort into the weekends game?
