Boss 'Anco' has had to return home to Italy due to his father being seriously ill, but it is expected that he will return in time for Saturday evening's kick-off against Blackburn at Stamford Bridge. Should he not be able to return Ray Wilkins said in his pre-match press conference, "If that's not the case I will look after the team with no problem whatsoever."

Wilkins continued, "I am sincerely hoping Carlo will be back, his father unfortunately is not in the best of conditions, but I am hoping Carlo will be back with us and his father has improved.

"I spoke to Carlo last night, his father was stable and we are keeping our fingers crossed, our thoughts are with him."

We wish you well Mr Ancelotti.

Due to the terms of his loan agreement, Franco Di Santo cannot play for Blackburn which is probably just as well as he scored his first Premiership goal for Rovers last weekend in their victory against Burnley.

That's not all the youngster did. When he was subbed in the same game, he came off patting the Rovers crest and then allegedly said, "I want Blackburn to beat Chelsea."

The remark may have been youthful enthusiasm and lost in translation but don't upset your paymasters Franco!!

Wilkins announced that Bosingwa, Mikel and Zhirkov are unavailable. He said, "We have a couple of knocks and bumps and bruises but on the whole we are not too bad. We are getting there and should have a fully fit squad within a couple of weeks."

A win for Chelsea will see them regain top spot from the Ure if only for a short time as the Ure travel to the Beach Ball Boys on Sunday afternoon.

Indeed, letīs hope that Carloīs dad recovers and also we get a better result in the league this weekend.

I donīt believe Di Santo said that - media are outrageously mishievious.

"It is born out of hypocrisy and fundamental insecurity. There have been two kids on the block for the past 12 years. Suddenly, there is a third and that one is threatening to be more successful than the others and they don’t like it." P Kenyon.
