Super Frank's first goal in ten games, which took him past Jimmy Greaves in Chelsea's goalscoring charts on 133 goals, a Salomon Kalou double (should have been at least a hat-trick Sal) and a late own goal saw Chelsea complete an easy and comfortable win over the 2nd team from Madrid at Stamford Bridge last night.

For the first twenty minutes though it didn't look as if it would be a comfortable night as Madrid tested Cech with fine efforts from Forlan and Aguero, a long standing transfer target.

To be honest if that is the best that Aguero can do - don't waste your money Chelsea - regardless of Aguero being Maradona's son-in-law.

It is a relief that Drogba's European suspension is at an end as Chelsea have struggled to get that elusive 2nd goal in previous games against Porto and APPOEL and with Kalou's nightmare miss in the first-half, the first goal looked like it was going to be a long time coming.

Two Kalou goals however, within eleven minutes either side of half-time, took the wind out of Madrid's sails and then Super Frank added Chelsea's third, before a wicked Malouda free-kick saw the ball flick over Asenjo from Perea's head.

After the defensive debacle at Villa Park at the weekend, it was pleasing to keep a clean sheet. However I didn't equate Atletico's strengths to be from set-pieces - we have stronger and tougher tests in the next three games starting with Blackburn on Saturday, followed by two games in three days against Bolton Wanderers.

Speaking after the game about Kalou's contribution, 'Anco' said, "Kalou is an important players for us, when we are without Drogba, he can play well.

"He started the game not good because he did a big mistake but he maintained a good motivation and a good focus. For him it was very important to score. He did a very good match."
