After the Germans beat Australia 4-0 the other night, World Cup winner (as W German Captain and Manager) decided a 'dig' at England would be the best way to celebrate his countrymen's victory.I mean, Australia are no great shakes, and the Germans were helped by the unfortunate sending-off of Tim Cahill.

Beckenbauer said, "England have gone back under Capello, playing kick and rush football."

Load of rubbish. England played to their strengths against the Yanks, except our weakness on the night, was our lack of a cutting edge to convert the host of chances created.

SHUT YER MOUTH UP!!

Let's see what happens should the two teams meet in the last sixteen.

Don't people learn anything when they are in the media spotlight. I mean,  I thought Robbie Earle was 'whiter than white,' (I am sorry, couldn't resist it) but if the stories are to be believed that he has been sacked by 'rubbish' ITV for passing-on 150 WC2010 tickets to the 'wrong' people instead of friends and family - stupidity - it just beggars belief.

Still the 'totty' in orange mini-dresses who were kicked out of the Holland/Denmark game, proves the Earle has an eye for the Ladies.

As for the games themselves. Brazil had a tough time against the country nobody knows anything about, North Korea, beating them 2-1.

The first game of the day produced the most excitement. New Zealand did better than the Aussies gaining their first point against Slovakia with an equaliser in injury time.

Former Chelsea winger Miroslav Stoch, came on as a substitute with five minutes left.

Four Chelsea players started the game between Ivory Coast and Portugal in the so-called 'Group of Death.'

For the fare served-up, the group should be re-named the 'Group of Decomposition.'

Didier Drogba came on after 65 minutes, but he was unable to set the game alight.

Today Matches:

Honduras 0-1 Chile

Spain 0-1 Switzerland

South Africa v Uruguay
