Essien injury forces 4-6 week absence

News has just been announced on the official site that Michael Essien will be out for between 4 and 6 weeks. This means the Ghanaian will at least miss league matches against Birmingham, Burnley, Hull, Arsenal and Everton.

. 

''He had a tear in the meniscus, and he has to stay out for four to six weeks - ….'I hope four,” said Ancelotti.

Despite the midfielder’s injury, there will be no last minute delving into the transfer market: 

“In January, Essien was not here, he was at the African Cup, maybe we lose him for one month, it is not good news but I think that we will do a good job again.” 

We can assume that the whole left by Essien Hill be covered by Belletti, Mikel or even Matic for example.

We will only miss Essien for his power.... Belletti was brilliant in the holding role. Matic can do the job he has proved it in the reserves

I feel sorry for Essien.... its another setback for him
