It has been a great couple days. First the bin-dippers from the Red side of Merseyside crashed out of the Champions League - oh dear what a laugh - poor 'ickle' hahahah and last night Chelsea cruised to winning Group D with a 1-0 win against Porto. Nic Anelka got the only goal.

It wasn't a great game. Porto looked like they were not bothered whether they won, lost or drew, which was a surprise as they had a great chance themselves of winning the Group.

On the other hand Chelsea didn't need to get out of neutral, they were so in control. There was a 'mad' period in the first-half when Porto hit the bar and Cechie Boy made a double save, other than that Chelsea's resolute and mean defence were otherwise troubled.

Chelsea didn't wake up in attacking mode until the second-half, when in the space of twenty odd minutes, Malouda caused Porto's defence a lot of problems with a succession of crosses.

Trouble was Chelsea were too slow in connecting with them, until the 69th minute when Anelka stooped low to head Chelsea's winner - GAME OVER.

Skipper John Terry was left to describe the night's events.

He said, "It's really important to us, a draw would have been a good result but I said we were coming to win the game, and we set out from the start to do that and I thought we did very well.

"Coming here is always difficult, they are a very good side with some very good players, but I thought we dealt with it well and it was good to get the win. The front men were brilliant and it was a great move down the left for the goal."

In two weeks, Chelsea play their last Group D at home to APPOEL but first, our attentions turn to Goonerville at Corporate City on Sunday.
