Yet more Jarvis rumours...

Gills star Matt Jarvis has once again been linked with a big money move away from the club. Paul Scally recently revealed that Jarvis will not be a Gillingham player next season, mainly down to Jarvis' agent Mark Curtis. Leicester this time have been linked with a £1million move for the Gills star.
Jarvis has also recently turned down a £650,000 move to Nottingham Forest but now a £1million move to Leicester could be on the cards should the rumour from the Daily Star be legitimate.

Following this mornings rumours, a club spokesman said: "It's all speculation with him at the minute and to be honest I don't know how a club could make a bid because the window is shut.

"If he doesn't stay then that will boil down to the end of the season because we will receive a fee through tribunal with him being under 23."

Former Gillingham players Iffy Onuora and Steve Claridge both thought that it would be wise for Jarvis to keep playing regular first team football and the 'key man' for another season or two, but that will not be happening as the Gillingham chairman Paul Scally could not agree contract terms with Jarvis' agent Mark Curtis.

However with Premiership clubs such as Newcastle and Arsenal also reported to be interested in the Gillingham star, it may be hard for the Gills star to not be tempted away. Gillingham boss Ronnie Jepson recently said how he wanted to hold onto his star man, until the end of the season at least.

Matt Jarvis made his senior debut against Sunderland three years ago. During his Gillingham career Matty has found the net fifteen times, five of those coming this season. After impressing with same occasional senior appearences and impressive reserve and youth games, Jarvis was rewarded a senior contract - which he signed at th final home game of the season in May 2004. Matty scored his first ever senior goal in the one nil victory over Wolves during the 04-05 season. Last season Jarvis won 'Young Player of the Year' award and the 'Goal of the Season' award and has been Gillingham's star performer this season.
