Hessenthaler Yet to Decide on Bentley

Mark Bentley's Gillingham future is still uncertain as manager Andy Hessenthaler is yet to decide whether to offer the midfielder a new deal.

 

The versatile midfielder’s contract expired followingGillingham’s relegation at the end of the season and was regularly deputised indefence last season.

Speaking to BBC Radio Kent, Hessenthaler said: “Mark was inand out of the side last year but in the latter part he came in and did reallywell and is the type of player the football club needs.

“He’s wholehearted and a passionate lad so we will sit down,but it’s down to finances really.”

The thirty-two-year-old made 38 appearances for The Gills lastseason.
