Gillingham travel to top of the table Scunthorpe on Saturday hoping to bounce back from their disapointing defeat to Brighton in midweek. Scunthorpe are exceeding all expectations so far this season as they sit at the top of League One.

Ronnie Jepson has tried rallying his troops ahead of the trip to top of the table Scunthorpe on Saturday, asking for more assistance to off-form Matt Jarvis.

Jepson is without Kelvin Jack however for the trip as the Trinidian is in rehab for his knee injury that has forced him out since early December.

Johnson limped off in the defeat to Brighton in mid-week but is expected to play against Scunthorpe, whilst Ndumbu-Nsungu and Jupp are ruled out.

Youngster Luke Howell has returned from his loan spell at Folkstone.

"I've told the boys we are going to Scunthorpe, not Manchester United, and if you are worth your salt then you should enjoy going to play against the top of the league and pitting your wits against the best at this moment in time in the League.

"I have seen them a couple of times this season. They are a decent side, out of the top drawer and that is why they are several points clear at the top of the table. It is no accident that they are up there. I look forward to going to places like Scunthorpe. You go there and show them what you are all about. You either do that or you go the other way into your shell. I don't want my lads doing that, I want them to show what they are about and have a right go.

"They've got good experience, they have got two lads who have scored an abundance of goals or them, one of them - Andy Keogh - has since left, they create a lot of chances and they are a very tough, hard working side and are a bit of a throwback to the way Northern teams used to be. They have two centre halves there to head it and kick it, they have a big lad in midfield in Richard Hinds, who is a centre half but does ever so well up there, they have good width, and good movement up front."
