Brazil became the seventh team to qualify for the Quarter-Finals of World Cup 2006, with a comprehensive but flattering 3-0 victory over Ghana yesterday afternoon.

 Goals by 'fat-boy' Ronaldo, Adriano and ze Roberto saw the Brazilians home but like England, their performance was less than impressing.

Ghana, without Michael Essien, worried the South Americans throughout the first-half and if they had showed more composure in front of goal then yesterday's story may well have been become today's sensational headlines.

A slice of history was made during the game when in the fifth minute, Ronaldo became the all-time World Cup Finals goalscorer when he scored his fifteenth final's goal, and he still has potentially three more games to go to increase that total.

France defeated Spain 3-1 in the last of the second round matches last night and will now play Brazil on Saturday night. Spain went ahead through a Villa penalty, Ribery then equalised before Vieira and Zidane sealed France's victory.

Tut, tut Thierry Henry. Gets a whack in the chest from Barcelona's Puyol and goes down for all the World to see, clutching his face!!

After two days off, England get back to work today to prepare for their quarter-final clash against Portugal on Saturday which kicks off at 4pm. If you believe what you read, 'Gormless' wants John Terry to give the team a pre-match rousing motivational speech as he had done at Chelsea, to get the players going prior to kick-off.

Shame you can't do it 'Gormless.' And by the way, give JT the Captain's armband too!!
