Groups A and B finish their round of matches today with Germany v Ecuador and Costa Rica v Poland. Both matches are 3pm (UK time) kick offs. As we all know England are in action against Sweden tonight, in a game that decides the winner of Group B.

What will Gormless do? Pick Lampard, Gerrard or not? Does he risk one or both in getting a second yellow card and miss the last sixteen game against either Germany of Ecuador? Will Rooney start?

Celtic signed Chelsea's Jiri Jarosik yesterday in a deal worth about £2m. Jiri spent all of last season on loan at relegated Birmingham City and he now looks forward to Champions League football with his new club. Expect Jiri back at the Bridge in August (9th) when the two giants clash in a pre-season friendly.

Nineteen year old reserve defender Dean Smith yesterday joined Conference side Aldershot Town. Dean played over 40 matches for Chelsea Reserves. Also on the move yesterday was Reserve and Portuguese winger, twenty year old Filipe Morais, who joined League One side Millwall on a two year deal.
