'DugOut' By Black Cats!

When I wrote the preview for Chelsea's home game against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge back in September I was 'dug-out' by a few Sunderland supporters for not mentioning Sunderland's 4-1 victory at the Stadium of Light back in 1999.

Why I would mention that particular fixture for a Chelsea home preview I don't know?!?!?! Surely this game amongst other Sunderland v Chelsea matches would be left until this time.

Now that I have mentioned it - job done.

Chelsea's last visit to the Stadium of Light in April 2003 ended in a 2-1 victory for Chelsea with Carlton Cole scoring a superb winner. With Crespo still struggling with a hamstring injury and 'The Drog' on African Cup of Nations duty with the Ivory Coast, it looks like the young Chelsea Lion Carlton Cole will lead Chelsea's attack against the bottom of the Premiership team Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

Sunderland are a massive 16/1 to win tomorrow and for the first time in recent years for the travelling contingent of Chelsea fans, tickets WILL be available on the day priced £30.

The game is being shown live on TV with a 4pm kick off and a Chelsea win will see The Blues go a massive SIXTEEN points ahead of Man U, who lost the Manchester derby earlier today. (There's no gloating here...... promise Ed).

After Lampard, Cech, Terry, Makelele were given the week off, expect all of them to return and expect Lassana Diarra who was told by JM after his impressive performance against the Terriers in the FA Cup to be on the bench. Mourinho promised Diarra after the game last week that he would be included in the 16-man squad.

With that I am going to predict the following starting eleven:

Cech, Gallas, Terry (c), Carvalho, Del Horno, Makelele, Lampard, J Cole, Gudjohnsen, C Cole, Robben.
