Yep. The Anderlecht fans were fantastic Jose. So fantastic they started fighting amongst themselves, according to BlueBlood Junior, who was subbed the £45 cost of his season ticket seat. He said through his hoarse voice (at least he enjoyed himself) that first the stewards tried to quell the unrest and then it was down to the Police. I doubt UEFA will be too concerned, after all JM wasn't involved!!!!

Back to the action, or rather the lack of it depending on which way you look at it. Frank Lampard's wicked free kick (which TV replays showed that it wasn't a free-kick) won Chelsea the game in the 19th minute. And here is another piece of useless information for you. Anderlecht's goalkeeper Daniel Zitka has played against Chelsea before. He was the teenage goalkeeper back in 1994 when Chelsea played Viktoria Zizkov in the European Cup Winners Cup. Chelsea won 4-2 over two legs, before losing out to Real Zaragoza (who Chelsea signed old boy Gustavo Poyet from).

For about seventy-five minutes Chelsea were in complete control and really should have added to their solitary goal total. Zitka saved well on many occasions including a scorcher from Super Frank (Who says he is out of form Eriksson?).

It wasn't until Anderlecht made a couple of substitutions did they really start to threaten. And threaten they did. Seventeen year old Anthony Vanden Borre surged forward, hit a low shot that deflected off Captain John Terry's boot and it the post. Chelsea's luck was certainly in, as the ball could have easily re-bounded of Petr Cech's back and into the net. Fortunately the ball just missed and was eventually cleared to safety.

Not a bad start I suppose, but it could have been an awful lot better. But a win is a win and three points is three points.

Including the Community Shield that's now Seven out of Seven with only one goal conceded.
