It seems that El Porto Nunto 'Let me pay you a few thousand Euros,' Porto's President has struck again despite being held all day by the local Portuguese Constabularly.
Five minutes from time, Super Frankie Lampard setting himself to strike the winning goal in this fraught contest, when blatanly tugged back, only to see the the Swiss Clock making referee wave away penalty appeals. When these circumstances happen the scenario that immediately follows is that the opposition team goes straight up the other end and either scores an equaliser or a winner. In this case Porto scored what was to be the winner and cemented their progress in the round of the last sixteen, despite CSKA Moscow winning in Paris. I have no problems with the goals that Porto scored this evening - the first a stunning volley from Diego, better than the one from Dioup (League v Fulham) from a John Terry clearing header and McCarthy, a towering header that beat Cech (despite his massive 6ft 5ins frame) down to his bottom right. I wouldn't say that Porto deserved victory overall and I wouldn't say that Chelsea deserved to lose overall. But Chelsea lost. JM lost on his return to his homeland and lost to the club he made the current European Champions, and there is no disgrace in that. But it is that Chelsea scenario that comes back to haunt us as there was an air of inevitability on this fixture. Even me, the eternal pessimiss, thought that we would go to Porto and come away undefeated. That is how this Chelsea team, this Chelsea revolution has gotten to me. OK we lost at Man City. But now the stats will show that Chelsea have suffered two defeats in twenty-five games. We are top of the league, we are in the last sixteen of the Champions League, Sem-Final of the Carling Cup and we have got a FA Cup home tie against Scunthorpe Utd (Sorry Scunny no disrepect), but at the end of the day life could not be better. For the record Duff scored Chelsea's goal. I think the Porto Police should detain the Porto President for a few more days yet, and collar the clock maker before he jets out LOL. The World is going to be full of happy people tonight.... do you think I give a damm??? COME ON CHELSEA TOP OF THE LEAGUE AND HAVING A LAUGH!!
