Defoe and Gerrard Set for The Blues??

Rumour Speculation Gossip The wheels are turning and the rumours are spreading like wildfire. Rumour is that Chelsea ARE planning to swoop for Spurs' Jermaine Defoe AND Liverpool's Steven Gerrard.

Tottenham can expect a serious £20 million bid in the summer, which as a PLC they will find difficult to refuse. Defoe is unlikely to want to stay if Chelsea offer him anything from £50,000 per week. Currently he is on about £15,000 per week. It seems that Defoe is the lowest paid member of the England squad. (Shame LOL). What would you want to do?

Gerrard is maybe a different kettle of fish. Last summer he turned down the opportunity to join the Blues. Simply because he wanted to stay with the 'Pool and give the new manager, Benitez, a chance. Very commendable and very loyal. However the likelihood is that Liverpool may win the FA Cup and or the Carling Cup which would not be enough to satisfy Gerrard's desire and career plus trophy winning ambitions and it is very very unlikely that the 'Pool will win the League or even the Champions League.

And with a bid of £30 million could Liverpool afford to turn that one down?

Who knows. No-one knows. Thats the beauty of football.

Keep watching.
