If what you read in the papers or hear on the radio and TV and believe that it is true, then 'The Arse' have a striker crisis. Hee Hee. Henry, Bergkamp, Van Persie all took knocks in the red hot red carded atmoshpere in Eindoven on Wednesday night.
Whilst Chelsea were in cruise control after qualifying for the last 16 of the Champions League many many weeks ago, 'The Arse' fail yet again to stamp their supposed superior authority on Europe. Arsenal and Europe, not a particular great mix. LOL. How many times have 'The Arse' been in the Champions League compared to Chelsea. Too many! We all know that! Look at Chelsea's record in the Champions League - 1st year Quarter Finalists (and only seven minutes away from the Semis), 2nd year Semi-Finals (the least said AND we beat 'The Arse' in the Quarter Finals. Hee hee!) and again after what turned out to be an easy group, already through to the last sixteen. Enough of that. There will be plenty more written about 'The Arse' in the coming two weeks and a bit, as the showdown at Highbury is on 12th December. The one that everybody is waiting for. I wonder what kind of reception the Chelsea board will get at The Valley tomorrow. Seeing the trouble between the two clubs over the last couple of seasons, and this is off the field. Carlton Cole's loan, Scottie Parker's transfer saga, the football match at Stamford Bridge played on imported sand from Southend on Sea. You name it, its happened between these West and South London rivals. I would love to be a fly on the wall in the boardroom that is for sure. Nice to read that Carlo has reportedly said that he is not looking to leave when the January transfer window opens, despite only making three appearances between the posts. Give the man is due and hiw class - played three, won 2, drawn 1 and NOT conceded a goal. There are not that many top class goalkeepers who can boast a record like that. Although King Carlo will give way to the giant Cech for tomorrow, I can see Carlo returning on Tuesday night back at The Cottage to play Foolham in the Carling Cup. Well I would imagine that the whole ground will be 'filled' with money tomorrow and not true football working class supporters. Why you ask? Simple answer. Charlton as part of their season long programme to provide Premiership football at The Valley at affordable prices have deemed this match to be one of those games where they will be charging ALL supporters between £45 and £49 for the privilege of watching 90 minutes. What Charlton haven't done is guaranteed excitement and entertainment. Sorry but I thought Chelsea had the monopoly of being the most expensive team to watch. LOL. My prediction for tomorrow's team. Cech, Ferreira, Carvalho, Terry, Gallas, Makelele, Duff, Lampard, Tiago, Robben, Drogba This game is not going to be easy. As last week's against Bolton proved. Charlton are another Chelsea 'bogey' team especially at The Valley as last season's 4-2 defeat suggests. Chelsea need to start early and bright and not let Charlton get the upper hand straightway. Charlton are no mugs as their home form this season already suggests with only one defeat in seven Premiership games. Arsenal v Chelsea - 16 DAYS AND COUNTING As usual any comments, suggestions either email me to abis15@aol.com or post your comment on the board!
