Danny Sturridge today signed for Liverpool, in a deal that was hardly surprising or unexpected, Chelsea Football Club reported. The deal appears to be the first major financial transaction of this transfer window and Demba Ba’s move from the Toon to the Blues looks back on as reports suggest Ba has been withdrawn from the Toon’s squad to face Everton this evening.
I hope Brendan Rodgers has more luck in getting Sturridge to pass the ball unlike his previous Chelsea coaches in the three and odd years he was at The Bridge.
Still Sturridge leaves with a Premier League title winners medal (amongst others) in his back pocket and perhaps he can wind up Gerrard and rub the damm thing right under his nose.
SING: 'Have You Ever Seen Gerrard Win the League.............?' (repeat)
Tonight the Blues look to gain maximum points from their festive season matches against the team who are bottom of the league and ‘who are only there for the money,’ not just said by me, but thought by others and more or less said by the ‘twitcher,’ ‘Arry himself.
I am not expecting a repeat of last season’s 6-1 scoreline nor a Fernando Torres hat-trick, although either, or, would get 2013 off to a great start.
The way Chelsea have been rattling in the goals in recent weeks, including the EIGHT against Villa in The Blues last home game, you can always expect the unexpected when Chelsea take to the field.
I suggest if you are considering correct scores tonight, you better include ‘Any Unquoted Scores’ because it could be one of those games!
