The owner and the board have already proved what idiots they are by sacking ‘legend’ Robbie Di Matteo and bringing in ‘The Portly One.’ Now they can cement their new status by allowing Super Frankie Lampard to begin looking a new club from January 1st, New Years Day. I know players cannot go on forever and forever, but Super Franks recent performances have seen him play like a 24 year old rather than a 34 year old.

Super Frank has more commitment, professionalism and attitude in his little finger than any of that mob down the road at The Bush (Chelsea’s next opponents) who are proving they are only there for the money.

Chelsea were always going to have a difficult time at Goodison Park, but they made their task doubly difficult when going behind inside a minute, after first, Anichebe’s header smacked against the post then Pienaar, freshly shaved of his locks, smashed home the rebound.

I did consider ringing the Police to ask if they had found Chelsea's defence somewhere on the M6.

‘The Portly One’s unbeaten record as coach against Everton looked like it was going to be smashed to smithereens as Everton gained the momentum and went for the jugular.

Jelavic hit the bar from a free-kick, Cechie boy saved smartly from an Osman shot and then saved again from Jelavic at full-stretch.

Chelsea equalised minutes from half-time as Super Frank headed wide of Tim Howard from a pin-point Ramires cross, on Chelsea’s right.

The second-half saw Ross Turnbull replace Cechie Boy who injured a thigh muscle and you could sense a collective ‘OMG’ ‘here we go’ from the masses of Chelsea fans inside the ground and those watching from their sofas.

To be fair to Turnbull the second-half proved uneventful for him as the ever improving defence in front of him, kept Everton at bay. However Jelavic did hit the woodwork (for the third time) with a flick header from a Baines cross.

The defence was always going to improve with David Luiz not in it.

Chelsea’s winner came from Super Frank smashing home from close range, after Howard could only parry a Mata (freshly shaved of his beard) stinger into the midfielder’s path.

Super Frank has now scored 192 goals in all competitons.

He is one goal behind the legend that is Kerry Dixon who is on 193 goals and he needs another nine to equal the all-time goalscoring record of Bobby Tambling’s 202 goals.

Not bad for a midfield player.

I sincerely hope ‘The Portly One’ gives Super Frank the opportunity to smash these records and allow him to walk away from Cobham Halls with his head held high sticking two fingers up at the owner and the board as he leaves.
