Well “Ol Red Nose” has been up to his old attempted mind-game tricks again. This time around, the obvious failure to acknowledge decisions that have more than favoured his side recently, would appear to signal an element of desperation; a massive points lead over us has been eroded, the pressure is on – and his bum is squeaking.
Gissa drink!
Like a whiskey soaked old boy, uncomfortably perched on a bar stool spouting out exaggerated stories of establishment persecution to anyone who would listen, Ferguson began his tirade after the loss to Arsenal last weekend, starting with a penalty incident involving Clichy and Owen:
"It's too big a game not to get the decisions right.”
"Clichy knew. He put his hands up in horror.
"Obviously, it gives Chelsea a major chance now. That's what happens when you get these decisions.”

The Great Vidic Escape (again)
The decision was a difficult one for referee Foy, as Owen did make more than a meal of it, but what is galling was Ferguson’s response to Vidic’s handball which would have given Arsenal a penalty, a red card for the Serbian and a suspension for tomorrow’s game:
"It was difficult for anyone to see that. It was a mere flick of the ball. You don't really expect the linesman or the referee to see that.”
So, according to Ferguson, a “mere flick of the ball” with the hand so that the opposition striker can’t score is fine in his book – especially as the referee or linesman missed it! What is frustrating is that with all decisions in the Arsenal fixture “correct”, Arsenal STILL would have won and Vidic would be missing tomorrow! Vidic already also miraculously escaped with a sending-off at Upton Park just weeks earlier.

Macheda handball memory loss
The Man Utd manager then moved on to remind the media of big decisions during our last league visit to Old Trafford:
"They got one at Old Trafford last season so that's the worry now.’’
Again, that selective memory kicks-in; Chelsea STILL would have won the fixture despite Drogba’s offside goal as Federico Macheda handballed their goal in anyway!
It’s very disappointing that the media don’t have the minerals to ask Ferguson about these decisions that have gone his sides way, and there are many more – they practically won a title at Wigan a few seasons ago when the referee bottled sending Scholes off after refusing to yellow card him after committing an identical foul on the same player for which he had already been carded! But then there are very few real journalists left these days aren’t there? Pride in the profession has been rapidly overtaken for the need to stir, sensationalise and give the plebeian masses the dramatic headlines they crave whilst they chew on their bacon sandwiches and swill tea during their morning breaks.
Fergie gets his man (again)
Drunken-like ramblings from Ferguson they may be, but the trouble is, “they”, do listen – the Premier League has given him his favourite referee – Howard Webb.
Asked if he was concerned a big call would affect his side again, Ferguson said:
"That's definitely our big fear, to be honest. Howard Webb is definitely the best referee in the country. There's no doubt about that.”
"We just hope it's our turn for a little bit of luck." (pass the vomit bucket please!).
Man Utd have won the last nine games that Webb has been in charge at Old Trafford and also awarded them three penalties in the last four matches.
Ignorant or clever or enemy of football?
Whether Ferguson is really stupid and ignorant, or clever enough in knowing that his word does carry a huge amount of weight on the domestic scene, is up for debate – but it does make you wonder WHO really are the “enemies of football”.
