It Takes A Worried Man

I will be honest I have left this report as late as possible because after last night's defeat against Wolves at Molineux (and major disturbances this afternoon/evening, not volcanic I might add), I really expected CA to get the boot. In fact every news bulletin I heard from about 8am until I got home, I have been on tenderhooks. 

Although England's dominance of the 5th test eased the pain of  last night's defeat and that my boy was in Sydney to watch the 4th day's play, I really wanted England to wrap the series and celebrate retaining the Ashes in style for him to enjoy and forget the last eight or so weeks he has had to endure from Chelsea 12,000 miles away.

You can't have everything I suppose!!

However, reports suggests he really enjoyed his time with England's 'Barmy Army.'
 
Who would come in if Chelsea DID sack CA and how much money would he want to spend between now and the end of January?

With Chelsea working to become self-financing, because of UEFA's new policy that will affect Champions League participation if guidelines are not met, no wonder the chequebook hasn't been opened since the transfer window began a few days ago.

There are no concrete bids in the market place for anybody at the moment, despite CA saying I need to buy players.

What the hell. Who knows? Only the Chelsea hierachy know what is going on.

The players know what is going on and I am sure a select band of our 'impressive' media know what is going on.

Only the fans, us fans are being kept out of the loop.

The same fans that turn up week in and week out and especially to those who go away (in times of austerity), just like they did last night at Wolves, badly treated not just by the result, but the fact that most of the team ran off the pitch to the safe sanctuary of the dressing room - except JT, Super Frank, Cechie Boy and Ashley.

With no disrespect to Wolves I thought it would be 'safe' to don the Blue shirt after Sunday's shambolic ending.

How wrong was I?

Zubar hits a fine shot from 25 yards, Cech redeems himself with a good save.

From the resulting Stephen Hunt corner, the ball skims across the area, Cech flaps and misses, the ball hits Bosingwa and ends up in the net!

It took TWENTY-EIGHT minutes for Chelsea to retaliate. Only a boot-laced save from Hennessy stopped Kalou from equalising.

In the second-half Kalou and Malouda missed when one-on-one with Hennessey, Drogba hit the post, Hunt hit the bar from a Wolves free-kick.

If possession was TRUELY nine-tenths of the law, Chelsea would have won the game on a knockout, but in reality Wolves won it on a goal scored by one of our own!

And the top headline is true!

After playing 20 minutes at Molineux last night, Danny woke up this morning and hit Spurs for 5, including a ten-minute hat-trick, as the reserves won 7-3, in front of a watching Carlo Ancelotti.


Wolves: Hennessey, Zubar, Stearman, Berra, Elokobi, Jarvis, Foley (c), Edwards, Hunt, Fletcher (Ebanks-Blake 67) (Milijas 80), Doyle (Ward 67)

Goal: Bosingwa (og 4)

Couldn't believe we would lose against Wolves - I was convinced the players would make an extra special effort. Oh well...

Replacing Ancelotti (although I´m not 100% agreement with some of the things he has done) won't improve the situation.

We need to change the pyschology of the players and the only way of doing that that I can see is some change: rest a few of those players that aren´t performing 100% with 1-3 kids such as Mcreachran, Kakuta....for a few games at least....give them a kick up the bum...and hopefully sign 1-2 players.

Great result for the reserves - Sturridge ceertainly seems in determined form. He surely must get a start soon?

Ancelotti is stuck between the devil and the deep blue although he has said he will start with his strongest team, from available players.

There are doubts about Drogba, Essien, Cole

Still I love the FA Cup and really looking forward to tomorrow's game, with Keane gone, there will be more incentive for Ipswich to do well.
