Angry Drog

Good News. Didier Drogba scored his first goal in open play for months. Bad news he missed a last minute penalty that would have given Chelsea a deserved first win at Three Point Lane in five years. After Didier had successfully put away his last two penalties, you would have put your house on the line for him to give Chelsea three points and a return to the top of the League.

With the return of Super Frank for the last twenty minutes and Chelsea in desperate need of a hero (Super Frank) would have filled the post had Didier not claimed the ball after Gomes had bundled over Ramires right in front of the 'brilliant' Chelsea fans.

Gomes saved down to his left and Chelsea had to settle for an 'unlikely' point after their poor recent run.

To be honest I expected us to get rinsed severley especially with Bale up against Ferreira and after Pavlyuchenko gave Spurs the lead on fifteen minutes, taking on a pass inside Chelsea's area then hitting a low shot past Cech and his right hand post.

'Chenko's goal was from Spurs real and only attempt on target. In fact Cech's most nervous moments came from indecisive back passes, whereas Chelsea's attempts at the other end came from Kalou, a couple of Essien sighters, but without Drogba who was on the bench, Chelsea tried to play crosses in to the little men.

It was a surprise when Drogba was named on the bench, a relief when he came on. He gave Dawson a few problems and Chelsea's equaliser came when Drogba picked up a pass and hit a shot so hard that it bounced off Gomes' chest and rolled over the line. There was a suspicion of handball in the build-up, but Mike Dean let it go.

In fact Dean let alot of stuff go Chelsea's way, which made a nice change.

Is the blip over? The result and especially the performance should stand the team in good heart for the challenge of Man Utd at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

'Three point Lane' where you haven't won in 5 years.

Do you really think you should be refering to it as three point lane in that case?

Yep we have won at your place more than any other ground in the premiership so we will continue to call it three point lane.Simple.

(Apologies for late post - getting in too late from work).

Ok in the first half but at least on a par - if not slightly better - than Spurs. Difference was that they took their chance and we didn´t.

Very good 2nd half. Definite signs of the old Chelsea coming back.

Terry was immense - really up for it and as far as our worries about Bale and Ferreira what a game he had....Bale even switched flanks at one point (bit surprised to see Bale diving so much though.

I think Ancelotti played a clever card dropping Drogba for the first half. Drogba´s definitely irked and it showed during his goal celebration - he´ll be really up for the Man Utd game.

Ramires poor first half and a much better 2nd half and great to see Lampard come on for his cameo.

Our support was excellent - much better than their lot.

Still plenty of tension during that long walk up the 7 Sisters! (tube changes made it impractible to get to White Hart Lane station - although next time I might just do that anyway - forgotten just how long a walk it was).

Remember your goal was offside so for you to say we were lucky think again.

Replay shows the ball hitting Drogba`s shoulder anyway.

ispursso. If you read the paragraph again 'Five years' was mentioned!!! and until Spurs catch up - like another 12 thirteen victories on the bounce - White Hart Lane will always be known as Three Point Lane - SEEMPLES

I thought it was a cracking game. End to end. Tottenham trying to put one over us, Chelsea trying and getting back into the mould. JT was top class, Ferreira was brilliant, Drogba was angry, Malouda didnt fall out of the game like he did against Marseille

Kalou was weak again. I think Danny should start against Man U.

Shame Super Frank didnt have the bottle to grab the ball of angry Dids, even 'Arry thought he would take the penalty

Still one point - betta than nothing @ ONE POINT LANE
