I can remember back in the good old days how our youngsters were supported from all quarters and sides of Stamford Bridge from the days of The King of Stamford Bridge, right through to Eddie Mac's dream team of the 1976/77 season. The likes of Wilkins, Ray that is, Finneston, Swain etc etc and how the crowd got behind them and boosted the confidence. 

Last night at The Bridge the home support was an absolute sham.

Yet again and not for the first time, we were outsung, outshouted and out supported by visiting fans.

The latest conquerors were Zilina from Slovakia, people who probably don't go out much, but turned out at The Bridge in surprising force. They bravely sung and chanted all night and for thirty minutes, lived the dream of a shock win when on nineteen minutes Bello put the Zilina ahead.

Zilina's goal was scored and constructed through the middle of Chelsea's defence, that I doubt JT and Alex could have dealt with.

Perhaps the 'cheap seats' and the prospect of a lot of goals (bearing in mind Marseille scored 7 against Zilina in week four) caused the apathy of those at The Bridge supporting The Blues.

I have said it time and time again, if you want to chat, sit back and wait for any action, just 'go forth and multiply in a cinema, theatre or simply stay at home at let those who want to support their club and the 'kids'..... the chance too.

Once Danny Sturridge equalised, the ground suddenly 'erupted' and livened up.

The home support grew and maintained an acceptable level till the final whistle which was compounded when Flo hit the winner minutes from time.

At the end of the day, Chelsea had already qualified for the last 16 (the stage where penalties do not count), a draw would have cemented top spot and even though Chelsea won, people (especially the media) were still not satisfied!!

Surprised that Kakuta was subbed at half-time - apart from 2 dodgy corners I thought he looked good (although Ancelotti may have only planned to give him a half anyway).

Bruma did ok....Mcreachan was excellent in the 2nd half after an uncharacteristic giev the ball away too often 1st half.

Sturridge looked sharp...and Van Arnholt may have even been the best of the kids???

Overall I thought it was a pass for the kids - and they would get better with more regular games.

Drogba looks as if he is STILL suffering from the effects of malaria (I heard that in some cases it takes the body a YEAR to get over it!).
