So Wigan Athletic all big and proud, giving it large they were going to give Chelsea a game, came to Stamford Bridge, saw Stamford Bridge and were summarily sent scrurrying back to the DW Stadium with their tails firmly stuck between their legs. No, not stuck between their legs, their tails cut off at the root.

I got to Stamford Bridge about midday (for a 4pm kick-off!!).

I thought what's the point of hanging about indoors getting on the rest of the households nerves when I can be at The Bridge mixing amongst those who were feeling the same as me.

Once in the ground, the nerves started to subside.

They completely disappeared as the first few bars of 'The Liquidator' bellowed around the famous Stamford Bridge stadium and within five minutes of the kick-off Chelsea were 1-0 up thanks to Nic and we were on our way.

All that was needed was another goal or two.

Forget about what was happening at Old Trafford, they could do nothing for us, it was down to us, it was down to Chelsea.

Proceedings got much better, when Super Frank scored Chelsea's second from the penalty spot, after calming down an extremely irate Didier, who wanted to take the penalty instead to stake his claim on the Golden Boot.

Calm down Didier, your time will come.

Gary Caldwell's sending off for the penalty offence was like a third goal and in my preview I wanted a 3-0, so we could party in the 2nd half like it was 2010.

And party we did. SIX second-half goals at the Matthew Harding End, including Didier's hat-trick (was it a perfect one? A header, left foot shot and a right foot shot. I am not too sure).

Kalou's great goal, Ashley's super volley and Nic's angled drive, brought the curtain down on a wonderful home season.

Our home record reads: Played 19, 17 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat scoring 68 goals out of a record breaking 103 league goals overall.

I have been in some very 'big' atmospheres at Stamford Bridge throughout my 40 plus years of supporting Chelsea (and some really DIRE ones), but yesterdays atmosphere surpassed the lot.

An atmosphere of such proportions that I will never forget.

The Shed was up, the Matthew Harding was up, the East Stand was up and EVEN the West Stand was up.

West Stand Lower, West Stand Upper and even the 'Corporate Cliffs' were up for it, especially when the bouncing started in the second-half.

I swear I saw Mr A giving it a 'large bounce.' I know he was kicking every ball and scoring every goal and people say Chelsea is his 'plaything.'

On to the FA Cup and one game away from a historic League and Cup double. It's a fixture and triumph that the President of UEFA, Michel Platini cannot interfere with.
