COME ON CHELSEA

This time last year, me and the Mrs were flying out to Florida for a weeks rest, relaxation and sun as Chelsea were taking on Southend United in the FA Cup 3rd Round. Upon landing and at the first opportunity I switched on my mobile whilst having a ciggie after 14 hours of abstinence to find a text telling me that Chelsea drew 1-1. Southend equalising in the 90th minute.

The rest of the text said Chelsea were RUBBISH!!

Chelsea and Watford met each other at Vicarage Road in last year's successful FA Cup campaign, Chelsea winning after being a shock goal down.

Almost a year and three managers later (Wilkins, GUUS and now Ancelotti) the two teams meet again at Stamford Bridge tomorrow to fight it out for a place in the 4th Round draw.

The Shed will be taken over by buzzing Hornets who will travel to The Bridge with nothing to lose especially after their recent turmoil of near administration.

The pressure will ALL be on Chelsea. No Drogba, Essien, Mikel and Kalou who are all away in Africa.

Our recent league performances are leaving alot to be desired and Boss 'Anco's' insistence that Chelsea WILL not buy anybody during the transfer window is simply staggering and defies belief.

All in all, I seriously think Chelsea will struggle in January despite having relatively 'easy' looking fixtures - on paper that is. No disrespect to Watford, Hull City, Sunderland, Birmingham and Burnley.

I also think that 'Anco' needs to adapt during a game when things are not going so well.

OK the diamond formation worked well at the beginning of the season, but now teams are finding us out and packing their midfields to make each game a slog and struggle as was proven against Fulham last Monday.

'Anco' maybe a proven coach in Serie A guiding Milan to their successes, but the Premiership and the FA Cup are completely different and if he doesn't change his methods and formation during a game, he could well suffer the same fate as BIG Phil did last February.

I am dreaming of the Florida Sunshine.........

Agree re formation change. Ancelotti has hinted that he might use 4-3-3....we shall see.

I´m a bit confused by what he has said about who he is going to play though; he has said January will be an opportunity to give some kids a run out but has also said that the FA Cup is important to the club and he will put out his best possible team.

I understand Anelka must start (presuming he IS fit) but I would like to see Kakuta, Sturridge and co get a decent run out during the next few games.
