Heads should roll at Cobham this week after 'criminal' defending saw Chelsea slip to their 2nd successive away defeat in the space of a few weeks. Before the Wigan game Chelsea were unbeaten. Now Chelsea are on the same defeats as Corporate City and one more than the Ure. At least (Giggle, giggle) the rat-eaters have lost more!

Villa did their homework on us and exposed our defensive weaknesses. It's a shame that no-one at Cobham did the same. Someone must have known that Villa are strong at set-pieces and that most of the their goals this season have come from them.

What Carvalho, Drogba, Anelka were doing as Villa's 1st and 2nd goals went in is beyond me. You could see the frustration on JT's face as he tried to kick the goal post down the M6 into total obscurity.

Chelsea got off to a flying start. A speculative effort from Didier saw the normally reliable Friedel flummoxed as the ball skipped over him to put Chelsea 1-0 up. But to be fair to him, Friedel made up for his error as he made good saves especially from two Deco efforts.

Richard Dunne equalised with his 2nd goal in as many games and James Collins, with his 2nd goal against Chelsea, gave Villa the deserved three points.

Deserved? Yes. Because Collins and Dunne battled, blocked, harried the Chelsea attack as Chelsea frantically sought out an equaliser.

Boss 'Anco' was a little more diplomatic in his assessment. He said, "I am disappointed because we did a good match, but we lost the game on the set plays and I don't like to lose the game on the set plays.

"If you have to lose a game it is better to lose when the other team played better than us, Aston Villa did a very good job but also Chelsea did very well.

"On the set plays for sure we need to do better because we can, we need more pressure and markers in the box. This is the question for this match."

If Chelsea carry on defending like that in the future, we won't win the Carling Cup, let alone anything else!!

Just watching the reaction of JT when those goals went in says it all really i bet they did some serious training this morning.
Other than that i thought we played some good stuff and if only Ashley`s goal had gone in that would have been a contender for goal of the season.

Cech had a bit of a moan about the winner:

"Two corner kicks, which we failed to defend, decided the game," Cech told his official website

"During the second one the crucial thing was that, while I was going to catch the ball, I was unpermittedly pulled by the jersey and by my right hand by [John]Carew, who stopped me from catching the ball before (James) Collins.

"Otherwise I would have easily collected the ball and had it under control.

"It is a pity that we have dropped the points, because mainly in the second half we had a lot of opportunities to at least equalise. However, that did not happen."

We seem to pretty much dominate but it´s no good doing that if you don´t score...

It´s going to be an interesting season - not just the normal "top 4" in with the main chance of CL positions.
